| This gaff cutter is a Hurd fibreglass hull,
originally bought for home completion. The present
owner found that after extended passages, the
water was coming in where it shouldn't. So they
called us in, starting a long and happy relationship.
The jobs on this boat were carried out over a
couple of winters, so that she was not out of
commission during the summer months whilst cruising
the western coast and isles of Scotland.
To summarise the work carried out, we replaced
the fibreglass covering the deck and coachroof
with epoxy and cloth sheathing,
redesigned and rebuilt the cockpit,
reworked the bilge pump system, fitted
a stainless steel shoe to the stem, fitted
new deck hardware, serviced the engine
and altered the wheeled cradle.
Finally after numerous repairs and modifications,
the boat was coated with two-pack paint
to the owners colour scheme. |
