Restoration can mean different things to different people. From a total rebuild as one project to a series of substantial coordinated repairs over a couple of seasons. Many boats can benefit from our knowledge and skills of the original methods of working and the use of modern technology where it is appropriate.

Restoration can often be an alternative to building new, especially if you have found a hull of a particular provenance. This usually adds value and is all the more reason to go ahead with a project.

Sourcing hardware and fittings true to the period of your boat can be "interesting" at times but we can make patterns for castings or have pieces handmade by a blacksmith to give that authentic and original look. So, should you acquire a distressed craft with an interesting heritage, or have simply found an old boat that you have fallen in love with, we can do the minimum to get you afloat or carry out a complete restoration to high standards.

We are currently working on a 40' motor cruiser, which was built in the 1950's. Jobs include a new teak deck and deck beams, hull planking and frame repairs and a new interior- this can be seen in progress at Milford Marina.

Sometimes during the course of our work we come across boats that would make ideal projects and are often free to good homes (or nearly). Contact us to find out if we have something available.
