Building a one-off is just as interesting for the builder as it is exciting for the owner, watching his commission grow into life.

The Tiree skiff shown is just such an example. Not only was the research and design of building the 18' double-ender a pleasing challenge for us, but the owner was overjoyed that he could be involved in the whole process. We even had him help us steam in a couple of planks when he called in for a coffee one morning.

The launch day, with locals looking on and subsequent regattas on the island of Tiree, all added to the experience and total satisfaction of the owner.

Of course, not everybody wants to get as involved as this, but it is an option if you wish. We are equally happy building clinker, carvel, strip planked, cold moulded and plywood hulls to any level of fit-out and finish.

Whichever craft you need, from sea kayaks, sailing dinghies, rowing skiffs and yacht tenders to motor launches, fishing boats and blue water cruisers, it would be constructed to any relevant class measurements, MCA codes and European directives.

We like to think that a handcrafted wooden boat, built especially to your specifications, would be unique practical heirloom, which could grace the seas for generations to come.
