I am always enthusiastic about discussing your requirements and ideas for the construction of a new craft and welcome the opportunity to quote for building to a design you have in mind.

The Tiree skiff shown is one such example.
Not only was the research and design of building the 18' double-ender a pleasing challenge for me, but the owner was overjoyed that he could be involved in the whole process.
He even helped me steam in a couple of planks when he called in for a coffee one morning.

The launch day, with locals looking on and subsequent regattas on the island of Tiree, all added to the experience and total satisfaction of the owner and builder. Of course, not everybody wants to get as “hands on” as this, but it can be an option if you wish.
Another example is this small skiff. The plans arrived in the post and I did not meet the owner until the boat was delivered, as he lived a couple of hundred miles away. All the details were discussed via email.

Building a one-off is always an exciting prospect, whether the construction method is clinker, carvel, strip-planked, cold-moulded or plywood. Boats can also be part-built to any level of fit-out and finish. I also have experience of moulding GRP and state-of-the-art resin infusion processes, as well as plug and mould making. Class measurements, MCA codes, European directives and surveyor’s inspections can all be accommodated when required.
I have a flexible, open-minded approach and always work to the highest standards and the best traditions of British boatbuilding.
