Welcome to Evans Boatwork.

Working with wood, Colin Evans (proprietor) builds, restores and repairs wooden boats utilizing traditional boatbuilding skills and modern techniques alike and is a member of the Wooden Boatbuilders Trade Association.

Based in Pembrokeshire, West Wales, the workshop has HGV and crane access and can accommodate boats up to 40' long.  As a small business built on the skills and traditions of British craftsmanship, you can be assured of a personal commitment, care and attention to detail in all projects which are undertaken.

Wooden boatbuilders love a practical challenge, especially when it involves using timber.  Wood is an ancient material but this does not mean that it has no place in boat construction today; in fact, it is as useful today as it ever was, considering the environmental and sustainability concerns that now affect us.  Modern techniques make wood a viable, versatile and natural material for the construction of long-lived and low maintenance craft and wood, being easily shaped (by skilled hands, of course!) and having many good natural properties, is still the first choice material of many boat designers for one-off custom designs, for both power and sailing craft.
